Becoming a Catholic with Online Courses
Online Catholic classes
By following the Church’s teachings and professing the Catholic Faith in its entirety, one can become a Catholic. This includes being united in the Sacraments which do require you to be physically present with a Catholic priest. One can, however, take the online preparation classes that are required.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process for non-Catholics to enter the faith.
To become a Catholic, one must understand the teachings of the Church, believe in those teachings, and be a baptized Catholic. Those who are not baptized will study the teachings of the Catholic Church through RCIA and conclude their journey with the reception of the Sacrament of Baptism into the Church. Those who were baptized as a Protestant, will study the teachings of the Catholic Faith in RCIA and conclude their journey with their reception into the Church by a priest, which may include a conditional Baptism and a profession of the Catholic Faith.
They require that the person enrolled in the classes be committed to the Church’s teachings and that they are living out a true Catholic life, striving to imitate the Lord in a holy lifestyle. The course that they offer will provide all of the information regarding what the Church teaches. Classes can be taken online in the comfort of your own home.
RCIA encourages everyone to become a Catholic and to receive salvation through Jesus Christ. Scripture teaches:
“He that loveth father or mother more than Me, is not worthy of Me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than Me, is not worthy of Me. And he that taketh not up his cross, and followeth Me, is not worthy of Me. He that findeth his life, shall lose it: and he that shall lose his life for Me, shall find it” (Words of our Lord Jesus Christ taken from the Gospel According to St. Matthew 10:37–39).
