Repentance means confession (reconciliation) for Catholics. However, they must repent immediately directly to God in case they die today. Everyone who asks God to forgive them must be truly being sorry for all sin and resolve to avoid temptations and evil that offends God in the future. Catholics need to follow up with reconciliation as soon as possible to receive God’s sacramental grace and absolution from all sin.
